Speaking toolkit - John Lizzio

"A speaker's voice is his or her tool of trade (Ray McKeown)"

You want people to listen. Talk with a voice that they want to hear.

Some things to think about when you are speaking:

  • TONE
    • High - for pictures and excitement
    • Mid - for dialogue
    • Low - for feelings and emotions
  • TEMPO
    • Fast - excitement and pictures
    • Mid - for dialogue
    • Slow - for feelings and emotions
  • VOLUME
    • Loud - for excitement and pictures
    • Mid - for dialogue
    • Low - for emotions
  • GESTURES
    • High - for pictures
    • Mid - for dialogue
    • Low - for feelings
What tools do you already have in your toolbox?

What tools have you seen used effectively?

What tools do you want?

What are you going to work on NOW......
